A teenage driver was airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 35.

The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. about two miles north of the north Guthrie exit near mile marker 159. The southbound truck left the roadway, struck a tree, and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

The highway was temporarily shut down to allow a medical helicopter to land on the interstate. No other information was immediately known at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
