A teenager was rescued Thursday afternoon from a partially iced over Highland Park pond.
The teen was playing disc golf in the park and decided to go after a basketball that was sitting on the ice near the middle of the pond. However, before reaching the ball, the teen fell through the thin ice.
The 16-year-old male was able to swim back to shore and received help from a friend, who was standing knee deep holding a stick.
A man in the park saw the event unfold and dialed 911.
At the time of the 2:20 p.m. call, the temperature was 38 degrees.
Guthrie EMS treated the teen at the scene and later transported him non-emergency to Logan County Mercy Hospital.
