For the seventh time this month, Guthrie has gone over triple digit temperatures and in the process breaking some daily records.
Fathers Day Sunday recorded a high of 102 to tie a June 19th record that was set back in 1953. The previous day was a record high 106 and blasted a 52-year-old record for June 18th when it reached 102.
The June 17th record now belongs to 2011 when a temperature of 103 hit the Guthrie area to go past the 1990 record of 101 degrees.
The average high temperature for all three days in Guthrie is 89 degrees.
A “cold front” is expected to bring temps below the century mark and closer to normal with highs in the upper 90’s.
