The generosity of the Territorial Riders was once again on display Wednesday afternoon at Guthrie Upper Elementary School.
The local motorcycle group donated $1,800 to Laura Benham and the Guthrie Special Olympians for the upcoming games in Stillwater.
The funds was raised through the Rider’s annual Poker Run on April 7.
“These men and woman have supported Guthrie Special Olympics for the past 16 years,” Benham said. “Thank you for your continued generosity and kindness that you have for our athletes! We love you guys.”
The Special Olympics Summer Games will be held May 16-18. Athletes will compete in nine sports: track and field, Bocce, bowling, golf, horseshoes, powerlifting, unified 3-on-3 basketball and unified softball. Other events include motor activities and Stars of the Future.
Along with their community support and volunteer acts, the Territorial Riders raise money for various projects throughout the year, including Shop With A Cop and General T.L. Daniels and Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
