Law enforcement officers investigated a threat made last week by a student with Guthrie schools.
School officials say on the evening of February 23 they were notified of a potential threat derived from comments by a student at Guthrie High School.
The Guthrie Police Department and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were immediately asked to investigate the threat. Both law enforcement agencies concluded that the comments were taken out of context and no threat to student safety exists.
Extra security has been called and put into place, schools officials confirmed
Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson says he appreciates students coming forward with the information.
“We applaud our students for coming forward to inform us of any and all threats to student safety and the swift investigation by our local law enforcement agencies.”
