Three children safely escaped a house fire on Wednesday evening as multiple fire departments responded to a heavily involved structure fire in Logan County.

The fire was reported at approximately 5:15 p.m., with the caller stating visible flames were coming from the garage while three children were inside the home.

Responding units from the Woodcrest Fire Department reported seeing heavy smoke from miles away while en route.

According to Fire Chief Luke Young, the three children — the oldest being 12 years old — met crews at the end of the driveway and guided them to the residence, located down a long drive.

Firefighters arrived to find a two-story home with heavy fire. Flames were coming from both the primary and secondary garage areas and had extended into the second floor of the structure.

Firefighters quickly went on the offensive, first working from the outside and then moving inside the home, keeping the fire contained to about one-third of the house.

All occupants and pets were accounted for. No injuries were reported at the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Additional assistance was provided by the Sooner Fire Department, Oak Cliff Fire Department, and the Edmond Fire Department.
