The Guthrie Junior High football teams simply did not have any luck as they entertained Bishop McGuinness Tuesday evening at the GHS practice field.
With the weekend rains of over the three inches the junior high games were moved away from Jelsma Stadium and in the process Guthrie was unable to come away with a win in the two-game set.
The 7th grade club got touchdown scores from Ty Doolin and Cal Davis, but McGuinness added four scores to collect the 28-14 win. The Irish built up a 22-6 halftime score. The 7th grade club has now dropped three straight and have fallen to 3-4 on the season.
The 8th grade team were unable to find the end zone as the Irish shut-out the Jays 19-0. It marks the first time this season Guthrie was unable to put any points on the score board. The older team has now dropped two of their last three games after starting the season 4-0 and are currently 5-2.
“It was not a very good showing by us,” eighth grade head coach Jeff Ball said.
How long has McGuinness had junior high teams?
