Two day Trash Off set for Guthrie residents in April

The City of Guthrie is hosting the annual Trash Off Day for two days in April. Ace Hardware and EMI will be participating in the event again this year. EMI will be accepting special waste items as in years past. This year the city is offering Electronic Recycling through United Electronics Recycling.

Trash Off

This year’s annual Trash-Off will be Friday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, April 12, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Annual Trash off Guidelines 2014

As part of the Trash Off Day, the city will allow residents free dumping privileges at the Convenience Center (landfill) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The center is located at 1506 N. Academy Road.

All persons wishing to participate must be residents of Guthrie and participants must provide a current City of Guthrie utility voucher and a photo ID.

Free disposal will not be extended to Commercial Waste customers (contractors, businesses, etc.) or to persons who do not have residence in Guthrie

– Participants using trucks must limit truck size to 1 ton or under

– Participants will not be allowed to utilize dump beds due to placement of free dump boxes.

– Participants may utilize bumper pull trailers up to 16 feet in length

– Participants will not be allowed to utilize dump type trailers due to placement of free dump boxes

– Participants wishing to dispose of brush may do so with the following conditions:|
1. All limbs will be of 10-inch diameter or less
2. All limbs must be cut into lengths of no more than 6 feet

– Participants wishing to dispose of appliances may do so with the following conditions:
1. Any and all refrigerant must be removed in a manner prescribed by law
2. All compressors, capacitors, etc. must be removed from the appliance

Special Waste Items as follows:

– Latex paint must be dried and in open containers for inspection
– Used motor oil
– Waste tires – with the following conditions
1. No commercial tires will be accepted
2. No exempt tires will be accepted
3. No tires mounted on rims will be accepted
