Update on June 9 at 8:30 p.m. – Update – GPD confirms all five vehicles, that were stolen, have been recovered. 3 people have been detained, one person arrested and a runaway female released to Blanchard police.
This final stolen vehicle recovered was located at Hwy 74 and 33 with four individuals inside.
For the second straight day, the Guthrie Police Department is investigating a crime spree that took place in downtown Guthrie. This time, two businesses were found with broken windows, a children’s center had items stolen and a car dealership had two vehicles taken. Now, in two straight days, five vehicles have been reported stolen.
Two businesses, Hoboken Coffee Roasters and Dr. Ding, located to each other in the 200 block of S. Division found their windows to have been broken out just after 7 a.m. on Tuesday. Luckily, for the owners nothing was stolen from the businesses.
Gordon Kemp Auto Sales was not so fortunate.
The dealership, located at 122 E. Harrison, had two vehicles removed from their car lot. A third vehicle was attempted to be taken, but a flat tire kept the truck from going to far.
The suspects kicked down a door to gain entry of the car dealership and located the keys to the vehicles.
At around noon, a red vehicle from the dealership was spotted a few blocks away in the west parking lot of the Guthrie Fire Department.
On the same morning, witnesses say a white male wearing boxers and socks was seen on video surveillance inside The Friendship Place drinking water and going through children’s clothing.
Moments later, Police located a juvenile at 1st Street and Perkins matching the description of the male, who was wearing a green shirt and black beanie. Both clothing items were stolen from the child care center.
The juvenile was arrested and booked into the Guthrie jail.
On Monday morning, Short’s Auto Service, located a block west of Gordon Kemp’ Auto Sales, was broken into and again keys were taken from the building and three vehicles taken off the property. Two of the three vehicles have been recovered by Guthrie police.

Officials are not saying if any of the three cases are connected, but continue to work each case.
