United Way of Logan County raises $207,347 for Health and Human Service programs

United Way of Logan County announced its 2022 fundraising total during the organization’s Campaign Celebration event Feb. 7 at The Guthrie Depot. The campaign raised a total of $207,347 to be invested on behalf of donors to meet the community’s health and human service needs.

“We are beyond thrilled this year to have the campaign total we do for our community,” Michelle Chapple, UWLC advisory board president, said. “Our loyal donors continue to step up for our neighbors in unbelievable ways and we couldn’t be more thankful. Thank you for giving the gift of hope.”

The celebration also recognized Environmental Management, Inc. as the 2022 Corporate Spirit award winner, as well as four volunteer award winners for their dedicated service to UWLC:

• Environmental Management’s Kristal Flury, 2022 Outstanding Employee Campaign Coordinator

• First Capital Trolley, 2022 Newcomer of the Year

• Juana Benson, 2022 Volunteer of the Year

• Gary Weeks, 2022 Kenneth D. Mitchell Lifetime Achievement Award

United Way of Logan County awarded the first-lifetime achievement award to former Advisory Board President Kenneth D. Mitchell following the 2009 campaign. Mitchell was honored in recognition of his tenacious and steadfast service to UWLC and the community.

In that same spirit, Weeks, a former board member, was recognized with the award nearly 13 years later for his lifelong dedication to volunteerism, leadership, and philanthropy, not only to United Way but to the community.

UWLC allocates donor dollars to 11 programs administered by 10 Partner Agencies. All programs are reviewed annually by donor volunteers to ensure contributions are properly invested with the highest level of accountability.
