United Way of Logan County raises over $5,300 at annual golf tournament

United Way of Logan County (UWLC) raised over $5,300 at its eighth annual Logan County Open on June 7 at the Guthrie Golf & Country Club. The golf tournament, hosted in partnership with Guthrie Golf & Country Club, Mercy Hospital and Eskridge Chevrolet benefitted UWLC and its 10 Partner Agencies.

Ten teams entered the tournament competing for a $10,000 hole-in-one prize sponsored by Foundation Insurance & Risk Management. Although a hole-in-one shot did not occur during the tournament, the Oklahoma Natural Gas team took first place. Second place went to Custom Dental. Guthrie Fire Chief, Dane Lausen won the closest-to-the-hole award, winning a pair of Maui Jim Sunglasses donated by Guthrie Vision Source.

“A huge thank you to our participating teams and sponsors,” said Kristal Flury, United Way of Logan County Special Events Chair. “We thoroughly enjoy putting this event on prior to our official campaign kickoff and know a fun time is had by all.”

Additional tournament sponsors included Gold Sponsors: Environmental Management and F&M Bank. The Silver Sponsor was Oklahoma Natural Gas and Cart Sponsor was Custom Dental. The Food Sponsors were BancFirst, Dunagan-Farms and Walmart.

The Prize Sponsors were: BancFirst, CashSaver, Gages Steakhouse, Guthrie Nutrition, Love’s Travel Stops and Rick’s Fine Chocolates & Coffees. Hole Sponsors were BancFirst, Foundation Insurance & Risk Management, Guthrie Vision Source, PRISM Bank and RED RIVER Roofing Siding Windows.

United Way of Logan County allocates donor dollars to 11 programs administered by 10 Partner Agencies. All programs are reviewed annually by donor volunteers to ensure contributions are properly invested with the highest level of accountability.
