I believe Logan County and the City of Guthrie are starting a mutually beneficial relationship. The city has a need for some “boom mowing” and the county has a need for “culvert cleaning.” In the cases where we can work together to benefit all, that is what we want to do on a local level. There are guidelines we must follow, but in the end, if we can co-op resources and save both entities money, that is what we should be doing.

So far the Federal Government shutdown has not affected us directly. I hope the bruhaha is about principle. If so, I say “good.” If it’s political drama, they ought to all be ashamed.I learned from the news this morning that Veterans are protesting in Washington D.C and across the nation. If you would like to join them nationally here is a link…. http://bit.ly/1e9dI9R If you would like to show support locally, it appears an event will be held Oct. 13 @ 9:00 a.m. at The Oklahoma Veteran’s Memorial located on the north side of the Oklahoma State Supreme Court. The link for information is http://1mvetmarch.wordpress.com/rally-points/oklahoma/ The event location link is http://bit.ly/GS8Qep I try to stay away from what might seem political, but everything is political. I am not joining in the “team sport manipulation.” This is not about being a Republican or a Democrat; it is about right and wrong and honor and respect. If you can, I hope you will support the men and women that have served this nation and defended our fast eroding freedom.
