Vehicle accident sends Guthrie man to hospital

A Guthrie man was transported to OU Medical Center in critical condition following a two vehicle crash. 

Emergency responders responded to the intersection of College St. and Midwest Blvd. on Sunday at 7:41 p.m.

According a crash report, a 2012 GMC Sierra, driven by Robert Hudson, 36, was traveling eastbound on College St. and failed to yield to a stop sign. 

The vehicle struck a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driven by William Hastings, 47, who was traveling north on Midwest. 

Hudson’s vehicle departed the roadway and struck a fence coming to a rest in a field. 

Hastings’ vehicle departed the roadway and struck a stop sign and utility pole.

Hudson was transported by Guthrie EMS and admitted in serious condition with head and trunk internal injuries.

Troopers list the cause of the accident as failure to yield at a stop sign.
