One person was taken to a Oklahoma City hospital following a single vehicle accident on I-35 on Friday afternoon.
Just before 2 p.m., a vehicle, traveling southbound on I-35 at mile marker 161, for an unknown reason departed the highway, rolled and caught fire.
Luckily, the person inside was able to escape the vehicle before flames completely took over.
The Guthrie Fire Department extinguished the flames approximately 20 yards off the highway.
Traffic was slowed down to one lane for nearly two hours.
Witness at the scene says the vehicle had just filled up with fuel in Stillwater, which left firefighters waiting for the fuel to burn up for several minutes.
The person’s identity or injuries were not released at the scene.
