A vehicle fire brought traffic to a crawl Monday afternoon along Interstate 35 between Guthrie’s two exits.
The blaze broke out in the southbound lanes near mile marker 155 just before 1 p.m., sending heavy black smoke billowing into the sky — visible from several miles away.
Guthrie Fire Department crews arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, allowing traffic to resume after a brief shutdown.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol assisted at the scene.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported at the scene.
