Eskridge Chevrolet General Manager Billy Clark and salesman Gregg Gumerson made a special trip to Charter Oak Elementary School Wednesday afternoon to make another donation to the school.
In August, the Guthrie dealership made a $5,000 donation to the newly built school to help go towards their new playground equipment. On the same day, Eskridge pledged $50 from each sold vehicle until the end of the year would go toward the playground project.
The latest donation came in at $5,200,
“We certainly appreciate your support for Charter Oak Elementary. What you guys are doing is changing lives,” Principal Jeff Ball said.
Clark said his dealership is excited about the playground project and the future for Guthrie Public Schools.
Guthrie Public Schools received a tremendous donation Wednesday morning at the weekly Chamber Coffee with the Guthrie Chamber of Commerce. And, there’s more coming.
“We are very thankful for the continued support from Eskridge Chevrolet,” Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson said. “This is another example of the commitment our community has for our students,” Simpson added.
Ball says the playground should be arriving later this month and the goal is to have a portion of the playground ready when students return to the classroom following the Christmas holiday break.
