The City of Guthrie Parks Department is putting some new mowers to good use on Tuesday morning out at Highland Park and Summit View Cemetery.
The two Scag 61” zero turn mowers were recently purchased with Hotel/Motel Tax revenue, and are much needed additions to the Parks Department’s equipment resources.
“Thanks to the taxpayers who stay in our hotels and bed & breakfasts. The hotel/B&B folks who make Guthrie a wonderful place to visit,” Director of Tourism Justin Fortney said in a press release. “Thanks to the Guthrie City Council and City Manager Leroy Alsup for their leadership in helping keep Guthrie beautiful.”
One-third of the hotel/motel tax, which is at a current of 4%, goes to the Parks Department. The remaining two-thirds funds the City’s Tourism Office.
