Video: Kentrell Brothers on being selected in the NFL Draft

With their fifth round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, #160 overall, the Minnesota Vikings selected Guthrie’s Kentrell Brothers. A day Brothers had always dreamed about since his playing days in Guthrie.

In his final year at Missouri, Brothers recorded 152 tackles (73 solo, 79 assists) in 2015, with 12 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions, three break-ups, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and three blocked kicks.

Brothers, who finished the regular season with more tackles than any other D-1 player, was named to the CBS Sports 2015 College Football All-America team. A panel of college football writers, analysts and experts from CBS selected the team. In addition, he was selected to the Sports Illustrated 2015 All-America team as well as the USA TODAY All-America Second Team.

Brothers is the all-time leading receiver for catches and yards for a season and a career in Guthrie football history. He was the first Bluejay to collect a 1,000 yards receiving. He was elite in sacks both his junior and senior years in the state and has more sacks than any other player in Guthrie history.

Brothers is expected to arrive to the Vikings headquarters on Thursday afternoon.
