A semi-truck carrying an oversize load clipped a power line on Highway 33 forcing the highway to be shut down for several minutes.
Just after noon on Friday, the Guthrie Police Department and Guthrie Fire Department responded to the highway in front of Loves Truck Stop for a down power line on top of the semi-truck and the pilot truck.
According to witnesses at the scene, pipes protruding from the semi-truck’s load clipped a power pole on the highway’s north side, which connected a power line to a street light in the median of the highway.
Both drivers were able to get of the vehicles and did not suffer any injuries.
OG&E arrived to the scene minutes later and removed the line off the vehicles and highway.
The westbound lanes were shut down for approximately 40 minutes before being reopened just before 1 p.m. Traffic was rerouted onto Midwest Blvd. and Highway 105.
