So what about those earthquakes? Oklahoma has felt its fair share and so has Guthrie. On Thursday, State Rep. Jason Murphey (R-Guthrie) constructed a town hall meeting.
Oklahoma Geological Survey seismologist Austin Holland and Oklahoma Corporation Commission spokesman Matt Skinner conducted majority of the meeting in a standing room only inside Waterloo Road Baptist Church.
Oklahoma has recorded nearly 150 earthquakes between January and the start of May.
The fracking industry says there is no definitive link to the quakes, but many are convinced the temblors are the result of oil and gas hydraulic fracturing.
NBC News highlighted the meeting on their national broadcast on Thursday evening and filed this report: http://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/are-oklahoma-earthquakes-tied-fracking-n143121
