Watch: House on Chapco Drive destroyed in late Friday fire

Guthrie Fire Department responded to a fully-involved house fire late Friday afternoon on the 2100 block of Chapco Drive. Firefighters arrived just after 5 p.m. to find flames and smoke engulfing the home from all sides.

It took several minutes for crews to gain control of the fire, which also sparked a small grass fire across the street.

Dark, heavy smoke from the blaze could be seen for miles.

Multiple people were able to safely exit the home.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the house was a total loss.

At least one vehicle and a camper were also damaged in the fire.

The cause of the fire has not been disclosed.

Oak Cliff, Sooner, and Crescent fire departments assisted Guthrie FD in battling the blaze.

The American Red Cross was called in to provide support to the affected family.
