Guthrie High School senior Jaylen Chelf gave his verbal commitment last Sunday night. On Monday, he made it official that he will continue his football career at the next level.
Chelf signed his paperwork with Southern Nazarene University, located in Bethany, inside the Guthrie High School library in front of his family, coaches, teammates and friends.
In his senior campaign, Chelf compiled 41 carries for 224 yards and nine touchdowns. At receiver, he hauled in 59 catches for 551 yards and eight touchdowns to help push the Jays to the second round of the playoffs.
Chelf was named the Class 5A-2 Special Teams Player of the Year.
Last season, the Crimson Storm finished 5-6 and won their final two games of the season.
SNU brings in 54 new players to the program, including 28 athletes from Oklahoma.
