Once again, Guthrie will be showcased on the big screen as a well-known actor makes his directorial debut.
William Macy and Selena Gomez are set to perform in Rudderless.
The early stage of “Rudderless” is underway as William H. Macy was seen in town over the weekend preparing for his directing debut.
The musical drama is set to be filmed in Guthrie and Oklahoma City.
Along with Macy, the musical will also star Selena Gomez, along with Billy Crudup, Anton Yelchin, Laurence Fishburne and Felicity Huffman.
“Rudderless” stars Macy as a grieving father who stumbles across a box of his deceased son’s original music and forms a band, hoping to find peace in the wake of his tragic loss.
“This film was written in Oklahoma and set in Oklahoma, and we saw no reason to shoot it anywhere but Oklahoma,” Macy said in a statement. “And it was lucky for us that we did, because since we started our prep here, people have been more than accommodating. They’ve been downright generous.”
