Updated April 2nd – Roberts is at the OU Medical in the critical care trauma unit. He has two broken ribs, a fracture at the base of his skull, three fractured vertebra, his pelvis is broken in three places and has head trauma. Roberts could have surgery Tuesday morning on his pelvis.

One person was flown to a Oklahoma City hospital after hitting a pole on a back country road just outside of Guthrie city limits at around 5 a.m. Sunday morning.

The driver Matt Roberts of Crescent, who is believed to have been driving under the influence, lost control of his truck and struck a utility pole causing the truck to flip on Backhaus Road. Roberts was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck.

Eagle Med landed at a near by business on Industrial Road to meet EMS for the transport. Roberts suffered head and body injuries, but was alert enough to tell authorities his name and where he was from.

Another vehicle was traveling down the dirt road when they came across a tire in the middle of the road that had flown off the truck. They immediately called authorities.
