The Guthrie wrestling program hosted their first home dual of the season and did so in dominating fashion with two district wins.
The BlueJays hosted Capitol Hill and Southeast, Thursday evening, inside the GHS gymnasium and came away with two convincing wins with an 83-10 decision over Capitol Hill and 74-10 over Southeast. Both wins go down as district wins.
The wins improves the 5th ranked Guthrie squad to 3-0 in dual action.
Guthrie finished with a total of 11 falls in the shut-out win over Capitol Hill while adding eight more falls against Southeast.
Timothy O’Connor, Austin O’Connor, Bryan Dutton, Devin Bilyeu and Landry Chappell each collected pins in their two wins.
John Davidson returned to the mat for the first time this season and picked up where he left off a year ago with a pin just 25 seconds into his only match of the evening.
Guthrie, ranked 4th in the latest tournament rankings, will turn around and participate in the Cushing Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
