Zach Allen to compete in 2024 National FFA Agricultural Proficiency Awards

Zach Allen of the Guthrie FFA chapter has been named a national finalist this year for the Landscape Management Entrepreneur Agricultural Proficiency Award. Only four FFA members nationwide are selected as national finalists in each agricultural proficiency award area.

The Top 4 finalists in each category will go through a process of interviews in September and the top finisher will be announced on stage at the 97th FFA National Convention on Oct. 25 in Indianapolis.

This will be Allen’s third trip to the national stage, as previously, he and his teammate Holden Ingram won back-to-back state titles in Agriscience “Power, Structural and Techinical Systems,” and went on to finished third in the nation as freshman and finished eighth as sophomores.

Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs), have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers. Students compete in areas ranging from agricultural communications to wildlife management. Proficiency awards are also recognized at local and state levels and provide recognition to members exploring and becoming established in agricultural career pathways.

This award is supported by a number of sponsors including John Deere, Ardent Mills, Bayer, CHS, Elanco Animal Health and NAU Country Insurance Company among others.

The National FFA Organization is a school-based national youth leadership development organization of more than 1,027,200 student members as part of 9,235 local FFA chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
