Throughout the year hundreds of thousands make a trip to the Oklahoma City Zoo, but on Tuesday the zoo came to see students at Central Elementary.
Through a successful grant, the Zoomobile made a stop to visit with first grade students in Calee Lyons and Dixie Shaffer’s classes. Photo Gallery
The Zoomobile is one part of the OKC Zoo’s outreach programs that helps students develop awareness and appreciation for the natural world. By seeing and touching real animals, students make connections which foster commitments to environmental protection.
The qualified zoo educator not only talked about various animals and how they adapt to their habitat, but also brought some of those animals to the school’s gym which proved to be the highlight of the day for the students.
