15th annual Bluegrass Festival set to begin Thursday

People from New York and Los Angeles and everywhere in between will be merging to the campgrounds of Guthrie and the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival.

Headlining this years event will be the Gatlin Brothers as the event celebrates 15 years.

The three-day event will be begin on Thursday with the Gatlin Brothers concluding the event on Saturday evening at 9:00 p.m.

The festival will be held at the Cottonwood Flats Recreational Center.

The events will be held from 10 a.m. through 10 p.m.

The International theme will come true with European bands returning to the Guthrie area, including the Swiss band, Kruger Brothers, performing on Friday evening and returning back to the stage on Saturday just before the Gatlin Brothers.es

 The Bluegrass Boogiemen from Holland and Fragment from the Czech Republic also will play two sets each at the festival.

Along with the concerts, the festival will feature a children’s tent with live music and hands-on arts and crafts and main-stage performances by winners of Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival scholarships. Instrument auctions at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday will help fund more scholarships for musically talented youths to take private lessons or attend music camps.
