As flames and heat intensified, residents were awaken by a Guthrie police officer alerting them to get out of their home as a nearby home and car were fully engulfed with flames.
A 911 call alerted emergency officials to the 1700 block of E. Springer at 4:41 a.m. on Sunday. An officer in the area saw the smoke and safely was able to assist three people from their home as flames began melting their home.
When the Guthrie Fire Department arrived on scene, they found a small structure nearly burnt to the ground and a SUV fully-involved with flames.

The home, which the three people were able to get out, suffered fire and heat damage to the east side of their home. Another structure, located to the east of the small structure, received damage from the intense heat.
Firefighters immediately found a down power line in front of the compact structure and is believed to have been the source of the fire. The police officer, who arrived first, says the line was sparking as he made his way to the home. Nearby residents say they recall hearing popping noises prior to the fire.
It’s believed the power to the small home was turned on the previous day.
The Oak Cliff Fire Department, OG&E and ONG were dispatched to assist Guthrie firefighters.
There were no injuries reported and firefighters remained on the scene for approximately two hours.
