Head coach Jason Rice was pleased on how his team finished the 2019 golf season. Of course, anytime you make the state tournament its always a special season.

The Lady Jays golf team participated in the 5A state tournament for the third straight season. This year’s contest was held Wednesday and Thursday at Lincoln Park West Golf Course in Oklahoma City.

Guthrie finished 10th overall as Durant came away with the team title.

The highlight for the Jays was Drew Dodgion who finished in 10th place overall with rounds of 85 and 81.

Rice said everyone competed well on the big stage.

“Everyone improved tremendously in day two and got invaluable experience for next (season),” Rice said.

Team members, included Kelsey Rainey, Sue Marie Meshew, Emily Beeby, Trenda LeGrande and Dodgion.

Guthrie returns the top four bags for next year. Coach Rice says there will be “high hopes” in 2020.
