Autoquip will host students from Guthrie High school vocational program on Feb. 23 as part of their community involvement program. Autoquip has partnered with GHS to encourage students to pursue careers in manufacturing and to inform them of the value of manufacturing to the U.S. Economy.
Autoquip will host two groups of students with the first group from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. with the afternoon group from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Autoquip will began the day with a short video overview of their products and offer tours of the manufacturing facility.
“Our goal is to reach out to the next generation of workers to showcase the variety of careers within our company and the scope of our operation,” Autoquip President Joe Robillard said.
Robillard says GHS alum and Manufacturing Supervisor Michael Merritt has been influential in bringing the program together along with GHS Principal Chris LeGrande.
“I think the students will be impressed and for some it may be the first time hearing about our company. We hope to inspire and encourage future manufacturing leaders.”
