Bancfirst partners with Governor Fallin for Food Drive

BancFirst has agreed to serve as a donation site for the “Feeding Oklahoma” food drive sponsored by Governor Mary Fallin again this year.  The goal is to collect one million meals for hungry Oklahomans.

Oklahomans are asked to donate non-perishable food items to the “Feeding Oklahoma” food drive that kicks off October 15 and ends November 15.  Needed items include canned meats, canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned beans and peanut butter.

Feeding Oklahoma Food Drive

The “Feeding Oklahoma” food drive was launched in partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. The food will remain in the county and serve the needy in Logan County and surrounding communities.

“The food drive is such a worthy cause for Oklahoma,” remarked BancFirst Guthrie President LaVerne Dowding.  “We encourage Logan County to get involved and bring food donations to any of our BancFirst locations.  Last year 6,745 pounds of food were collected at BancFirst locations across the state.”

In Oklahoma, one in four children struggle with hunger on a daily basis. The Food Bank provides food for over 90,000 each week, but it’s not enough to keep up with the growing demand. Every $1 donated provides five meals to people in need.  Donations from generous Oklahomans are of paramount importance to keep our families fed this season.
