Guthrie erupted in the second quarter for 27 points in the regular season finale to upend Guymon, 54-6, in the Panhandle. With the win, the Jays return to the playoffs for the 13th consecutive season.
The Bluejays piled up 506 yards of offense, including 392 yards on the ground, while holding the Tigers’ offense to 114 yards.
Senior running back Gavin Brison headlined the rush attack with 165 yards on 24 carries and three touchdowns. In the process, Brison went over 1,000 yards rushing on the season.
Brison finished touchdown runs of 1, 11 and 13 yards.
