Walker Cross and Jonathan Ogan have been within steps of each other this season and it proved to be true again this weekend in Tulsa.
The BlueJay duo finished two-three in the Holland Hall run en route to helping the Jays land in fifth place with a competitive field.
Ogan (16:32) was .01 of a second quicker than Cross (16:33) in the three-mile run. Hunter Sallee was the third Guthrie runner to cross at the 17:46 mark and was good for 26th place, Taylor Self ran a 18:55 and Brandon Greenlee at 19:05.
Chandler’s Chris Lowery took top prize when he ran a 16:15.
Class 5A’s Jenks Trojans took the team title with 71 points while out running Deer Creek by eight points (79). Union (81) was third, Broken Arrow (131)was fourth and the Jays rounded out to the top five with 152 points.
Guthrie will next be in action when they take part in the annual Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday.
