Tuesday begins a busy week for Guthrie and the Chamber of Commerce. Here is a run down from the Chamber.
Tuesday, September 11th at 6p.m. KSBI will have a town meeting at the Pollard Theatre for their Guthrie Land Run show. Vince Orza will welcome everyone and people will talk about Guthrie. Oklahoma Live will feature KSBI’s Land Run trip to Guthrie on September 26th. So please help us represent Guthrie in a big way by attending!
Thursday, the 13th from 11:30a.m. to 1p.m. United Way will host their Kick-off luncheon at the American Legion building. Stop by for a free hamburger or hot dog to see what goals they have set for next year! This is the last weekend for “Forever Plaid” performed by the Pollard Theatre. It’s a great musical/comedy.
Friday the 14th, Jessica Schambach, Paul Folger, Bob Irzyk and Damon Lane will spend the day in Guthrie. It’s all a part of the “Helping Hands” tour they have been promoting on KOCO Channel 5. The 5p.m. and 6p.m. news will be filmed live from the parking lot across from the Jelsma Stadium. They will film the Guthrie Enid Game of the week at 7:30p.m. There will be various activities on Harrison Street before and of course during the taping of the news. So come on out and have some fun!
Stroll through an array of vintage auto, classic and street rods Saturday, Sept. 15at the Guthrie Road Show Celebration. The celebration will be at Mineral Wells Park from 9a.m. to 4p.m. The Oklahoma Frontier Drugstore Museum & Apothecary Garden is throwing an Anniversary Party at noon on Saturday the 15th at the Apothecary Garden located at 214 West Oklahoma. The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus, America’s Favorite Big Top Circus is coming to town on Wednesday, September 19 at Cottonwood Flats with two scheduled performances at 5p.m. & 7:30p.m. C&M Circus has become internationally known for quality family entertainment. This authentic One-Ring, Big Top Circus has been featured on National Geographic’s Explorer TV series, Entertainment Tonight, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, and Arizona Highways Magazine. Between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. come watch the raising of the Big Top, then stay for the FREE Tour. This presentation offers a unique face-to-face opportunity for families, schools, and interested community members to meet and learn all about the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus family and includes a walking tour of the circus grounds. Learn interesting facts about our performers, the history of our show and the different species of animals in our Circus Family. In this presentation we will also address topics such as hygiene, grooming and the veterinary care all of our animals receive.
