Former Guthrie High School and Langston University standout Cameron Jenkins got to do something that many don’t get to do.
In a 5-5 game in the bottom of the seventh, Jenkins delivered a two-run, walk off homerun to prevail Langston over Mid-America Christian on March 7.
The blast came on the first pitch she saw.
Jenkins finished game two with two hits, four RBIs while collecting her first homerun of the season.
In 2015, Langston head coach Hosea Bell recruited Jenkins for several reasons.
“When I showed up (to watch Guthrie play) I saw her play shortstop and catcher and that’s exactly what I am looking for. She’s fast, she smart and her athletic skills are incredible.”
