A fierce house fire in southern Logan County on Tuesday afternoon left a home completely destroyed and at least one vehicle damaged, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The Woodcrest Fire Department responded to a house fire at 5590 Huckleberry Row, near Post Road, around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Black, heavy smoke was visible from miles away as firefighters arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames.
Fortunately, no one was inside the home during the fire, and all residents are safe. Several bangs were heard coming from inside the house, with reports of ammunition stored on the property.
Multiple agencies assisted in battling the blaze, including the Sooner Volunteer Fire Department, Oak Cliff Fire Department, Logan County Emergency Management, and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
The American Red Cross has been contacted to help assist the family.
Firefighters remain on the scene at the time of this article (2:55 p.m.) extinguishing the flames.
No word on what may have caused the fire.
