Are you passionate about advocating for abused and neglected children?
CASA for Kids, Inc. is in need of board members who are dedicated to bettering the lives of children in juvenile deprived court in Payne and Logan Counties. The CASA Board is a group of passionate individuals who give their time, talents and resources to support the mission of CASA.
“We’re lucky to have a diverse group of Board members who represent the communities we serve,” said Bonnie Cain-Wood, current Board Chair. “If it’s not the right time for you to serve as a court-appointed advocate, joining the Board is the perfect option to make a meaningful contribution to our organization.”
CASA for Kids began serving Payne County in 1994 and recently opened a new office in Logan County in 2016. The team has seen great success in Logan County and hopes to build on it with the addition of new Board members who are active in the Logan County community.
This organization has a big job to do, and you can help make an impact with your time and contribution to discussions. In 2019 alone, CASA for Kids served more than 200 children who would have otherwise gone through the court system alone.
“As some of our Board members finish their terms this year, we need new members to continue our work in the community,” said Kristy Kitsman, Executive Director. “The main qualification is an absolute dedication to the wellbeing of each child we serve. Every single one of our Board’s decisions is based on the needs of these kids.”
The Board currently meets once a month in a virtual setting. Available committees include Fundraising, Volunteer Appreciation, Finance, Public Relations and Governance. Upcoming Executive Committee positions are also available if you would like to make a greater impact during your time on the Board.
Board meetings are held monthly, currently on Zoom. For more information or to ask questions, visit casaforkids.com/board. Together, we can change a child’s story.
