Hello everyone! This weekend is the Timed Event Championship at the Lazy E Arena. Twenty men will be competing for two hundred thousand dollars! Families will enjoy all of the activities planned for the performances. Ticket prices are $45 for VIP, box seats $35, reserved bleachers $30 and general admission $25. Children 12 and under are free in general admission and VIP. Group and multiple performance discounts are also available. Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets, www.lazye.com, calling Ticketmaster (800) 745-3000 or by calling the Lazy E Arena directly at (800) 595-RIDE. This year’s Timed Event Championship of the World will be showcased in an RFD-TV prime-time special Wednesday, March 18, just a week after this year’s winner is crowned.
In addition, a portion of the proceeds from the 2015 Timed Event Championship will be donated to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Don’t miss the Chuck Wagon cook – off Saturday at 3pm. tickets are $20 a person.
Cimarron Casino is having their annual Golf Tournament Proceeds from this tournament will go to the Iowa Tribe Food Bank. The Food Bank is an outreach program which assists native and non-native participants. There are families in the program area that will wake up today and wonder where their next meal will come from. Most of these families include children. Your generous support to this event will fund hunger-relief to these families. The golf tournament is scheduled for June 19th. The Guthrie Job Corps Center is a Federal Program operated through ResCare, to serve at-promise youth ages 16-24. The students are given the opportunity to receive a GED or High School Diploma, Driver’s License, and a Trade of their choice; the Center offers a total of ten trades of which the students are able to select. The overall goal is to graduate productive employable citizens into our community and society. On June 13th, the Guthrie Job Corps Center will participate in the America’s Cancer Society Relay for Life Marathon Walk in downtown Guthrie. They are looking for items such as water, juice, soda, chips, hotdogs, hamburger patties/meat, hamburger buns and hotdog buns. Calling all good cooks! Saturday, March 7th Relay for Life will hold its annual Chili/Dessert Cook-off! Doors open at 6pm in the Presbyterian Fellowship Hall located on the corner of Noble and Division.
The Guthrie Chamber will start its 2015 Educational Series the third Tuesday of the month. “Marketing on a Dime” will begin March 17th from 11:30am to 1pm for $15 non-members are $20.
