Chamber Chat: Farmer’s Market to begin June 6 with new location

I hope this article finds you well and you are having a good Memorial Weekend. Congressman Lucas will be spending some time in Guthrie this Wednesday between 9 and 10 a.m. Once he realized that was the same time as our Chamber Coffee we arranged that both events take place in the Library, so it’s a Win/Win! He will be speaking in the meeting room at the Guthrie Public Library and the Library is hosting this week’s Chamber Coffee at 201 S. Division. Stop by and hear what is going on in Congress and at the Library this summer!

The Guthrie Farmer’s Market is moving locations this year. We will be on the corner of Harrison and Division in the Gazebo Parking lot starting June 6! We have several new produce vendors joining us this summer.  The Antique & Vintage Market will be setting up with us on the 6.

Silverleaf Shotgun Sports LLC will host the 2015 Oklahoma Sporting Clays Championship June 10-14. This event will draw over 250 participants from around Oklahoma and surrounding states. In the Shooter’s Hospitality Area we would like to highlight Guthrie businesses. If your business would like to be included please email Deb at deb@silverleafshotgunsports.com or call 405.282.2787.

Last week I told you about our own Lisa Sorrell’s quest to qualify for a huge grant from Chase. This week I have learned that another wonderful and world-renowned artist from Guthrie is also trying to qualify! Tipsy Artist Fans! Tipsy Artist hosts the largest paint parties in the world. Her mission is to Create a Canvas of Encouragement & teach people how to paint with a vision of hope and happiness in their lives through lively fun classes, online videos and licensed artwork in a diverse variety of platforms. She needs your vote! She is applying for the grant to help Tipsy Artist reach its Mission to teach people all of over the world how to paint with happiness and hope!

May 28 the Logan County Historical Society is having a BBQ at Mineral Wells Park at 6pm. Enjoy BBQ sandwiches and fixings, hear early 1900’s popular tunes and learn about Island Parks finest days, dinner is ten dollars. I hope you all have a safe and wonderful week!
