In the Logan County Courthouse in late March, a Texas woman withdraw her plead of not guilty to guilty as she accepted an amended charge of murder in the second degree.
Beverly Mccolm was originally charged with first degree murder in the death of Francis Maurice Byrd, who was found dead in his Guthrie home, located at 1223 East Vilas, with four gunshot wounds to his back on December 10, 2011.
Mccolm, 66, was sentenced to 40 years with the Department of Corrections with the last 30 years to be suspended based upon good behavior. She was also ordered to have no contact with the victim’s family.
