I hope this finds you thawing the turkey, gathering the veggies and baking the yummy desserts! We at the Chamber have been promoting Guthrie’s Christmas Festivities this past week by visiting;  Pauls Valley, Duncan, Sulpher, Ardmore, Ada, Durant, Tishomingo, Purcell, Gainsville and Denison Texas.

Chamber President Mary Coffin

There are many things going on in town this week.  The children are getting out of school on Tuesday afternoon for their Thanksgiving break.  Please take this into account when you are rushing to and from the grocery store for those last minute needs.

General Daniels will have its annual Thanksgiving Dinner at 11am on Thursday at the American Legion. If you would like to donate a dessert for this dinner please bring it to the Chamber on Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

We are excited that the Pollard will begin A Territorial Christmas Carol production this Friday.  For ticket information please contact the Pollard Theatre at 282-2800.

We will have our Lighted Christmas Parade next Saturday, December 1 at 6 p.m. from the Junior High to the Post Office where we will have entertainment and announce this year’s Territorial Governor!

This Wednesday’s  Chamber Coffee will be hosted by Long John Silver’s at 2323 E. Noble, bring your business cards and be ready to network. The coffee begins at 9:30 a.m.

The Guthrie Police Department will host their annual “Shop with a Cop” again this year.  This is a wonderful way the Police Department has found to help a child in need in our community!  They are currently raising funds for this event, should you or your business want to support them with a donation please contact the Department at 282-3535.

Please remember to Shop Guthrie First for all of your Holiday needs. Make sure to check with your favorite store for their Black Friday specials! Think about purchasing some toys for the children at the Maudi Hershey’s Children’s Shelter.

We at the Chamber wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!
