The Logan County Democratic Women’s Club will meet Friday, March 1st. Business will include presentation of the two candidates running for the Ward I seat, Matthis Hathorne and John Wood. The public is welcome to attend; meeting begins at 7p.m. in the fellowship hall of Trinity Episcopal Church.

The City of Guthrie and the Chamber of Commerce are working on a public forum for all mayor and council candidates on March 25th at 6p.m. in the council chambers. Voting day is set for April 2nd, for any school run-offs, special elections and the regular municipal general election. In person absentee voting will occur March 29th and April 1st from 8a.m.to 6p.m. at the Election board located at 224 E. Vilas.

We have several promotions starting in March! We put an ad on the front page of OkTourism.com going to the 89er Website. Public service announcements for the 89er Celebration will be airing on Clear Channel stations: KTOK AM 1000, KXY, KEBC, KJ103, 94.7 The Brew and 101.9 The Twister which will run the entire month of March! Our Guthrie commercial will be airing March 10th to the 30th in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. The commercials will be shown on Travel, Lifetime Movie Network and National Geographic it will air approximately 130 times in each market.
The Pollard Theater kicks off the 22nd of this month and runs through March 16th! They will be showing “To Kill a Mockingbird” To purchase tickets go online at www.thepollard.org or call 282-2800.

The Guthrie Arts will host an Elegant Evening Benefiting the Arts. Saturday, January 26th from 7p.m. to 11p.m. at the Dominion House you are invited to the second annual Crystal Ball. Formal attire is required at this event where you will experience an Art Auction, Gourmet dinner, wine and dancing with the Al Good Orchestra.  For reservations call 260-2345 or 282-7778.

The Rotary Club is selling tickets to their annual spaghetti feed held at the First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. Tickets are $6.00, kids 12 and under are $3.00. Proceeds help the Rotary Club do great things in our community, call 282-1947 for tickets.

Wednesday, Feb. 27th Chamber Coffee will be hosted by the American Red Cross located at 219 S. Second. Also on Wednesday is the Lenten Lunch, this week’s lunch will be hosted by Community Church on Seward Road with pastor Jerry Mash will be speaking on Doubt.
