City of Guthrie announces new Human Resource Director

The City of Guthrie has announced Kristin Elsenbeck as the new Human Resource and Administrative Services Director. Elsenbeck will officially start with the City on Monday, May 20.

Elsenbeck has 14 years previous Human Resource experience including work with Target, Sears and most recently with the state of Oklahoma Office of Management and Enterprise Services were she served as human resource manager.

She is finishing up her degree in organizational leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma and will graduate May 10.

Kristin is a Guthrie resident and looks forward to her future serving the City she lives in.

This announcement precedes the announced eminent retirement from the current HR director Jim Ahlgren.  Ahlgren served the City for the past 14 years.

City Manager Leroy Alsup stated that he is appreciative for Ahlgren’s contributions to the City and wishes Jim and his wife Gail well.

“I hope that the general public is appreciative of the fact that over the last decade as the City of Guthrie had a revolving door scenario at the City Manager position,” Alsup said. “Mr. Ahlgren was one of a few key management staff that were a constant to keep the City on a steady course. Jim has been a trusted and valued member of the City’s Management Team during Mr. Alsup’s tenure as City Manager and he will truly be missed at City Hall.”

Alsup says he looks forward to Elsenbeck’s active involvement in the community.
