The City of Guthrie Planning Department in partnership with Fry Design Co. has created a catalog of pre-approved homes to accelerate the home-building process and incentivize small developers and vacant lot owners to invest in Guthrie’s neighborhoods.
The Build & Invest in Guthrie (BIG) Initiative is to ensure the City of Guthrie Planning Department can fast-track housing builds for approval and eliminate the hurdles that often accompany the new-build process. Guthrie’s building office has already approved the design and construction plans of each home. This approach offers several benefits:
• Lowers the bar to entry for small developers and people who want to build homes in Guthrie’s existing neighborhoods.
• Streamlines the approval process to reduce the time and effort before starting construction.
• Encourages development inside the community and neighborhoods rather than large developments outside of Guthrie Proper
This catalog features 10 home plans to suit 25-foot lots and 50-foot lots with variations of narrow homes, single-family homes, and duplexes. The design features of each home fit the aesthetic of Guthrie’s inner neighborhoods including historic areas.
This approach takes out the tedious designing and planning that comes with building a new home. The house has already been approved, now you just need to build it!
