The City of Guthrie has announced Shawnda Price as the new Director of Economic Development. Price was born and raised in Midland, Texas and is currently finishing her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations from Texas Tech University. Shawnda gained hands on marketing and public relations experience as a marketing intern for both Benchmark Business Solutions and Elite 10 Marketing.
Price has background in developing and designing advertising and promotional materials, as well as executing promotional events and marketing campaigns. She is well versed in monitoring social media analytics to measure outcomes and success.
“It didn’t take long for me to see the opportunity that exists in Guthrie, and I want to be a part of it,” Price said in a release. “Moving to Guthrie and accepting a job with the City was an easy decision.”
City Manager Leroy Alsup, along with City Human Resources, Planning Department and the Chairman of the CVB Advisory Board participated in the interview and hiring process.
“Shawnda will bring high energy and passion to her new position. She will make an excellent team player in the City of Guthrie’s group of young professionals moving our community forward to new achievements for the future,” Alsup said.
Price will begin her role with the City of Guthrie on August 27 and is in the process of relocating to Guthrie.
