Coltrane Rd to be closed off beginning January 6

Coltrane Rd. between Seward and Forrest Hills will be closed to through traffic beginning January 6 for road work.

Residents of the area will have access.

The road will remain closed until road work is complete. Please find an alternate route for through traffic.

According to District 1 Commissioner Marven Goodman, “We have been able to do the design change to not require the long and very expensive process of relocating the Energy Transfer line. While we are still getting the final design changes done, we have been able to work with the original design team and get a re-design of the RCB structure #25 {Box Culvert} crossing Coltrane on the north mile of the project completed.”

Goodman says the project will be done similar to the previous structure and require the road to be closed to all through traffic as they will be crossing the road with the structure construction.

“This is very good news because we were last told that construction possibly would not begin, again, until this next summer which would have placed completion into 2021,” Goodman added.

Baring any more unforeseen delays the two miles should be completed in the fall of 2020.
