Beginning in 2016, motorists driving through Logan County will see and feel upgrades to Interstate 35. Earlier this week, a bid was accepted and approved to resurface 16.37 miles of the highway.
The Oklahoma Transportation Commission held their regular scheduled meeting on Monday. The commission approved $115M worth of projects, including a $9,779,234 resurfacing project that will resurface both the northbound and southbound lanes.
The highway will be resurfaced with asphalt beginning from a quarter-mile of US-77 (first Guthrie exit from the south) to Mulhall Road (exit 170) on each side of the highway.
Officials say they have combined three projects into one and that the length of the resurfacing is longer than most done in the state.
Oklahoma City based T.J. Campbell Construction Company was awarded the project, which is estimated to begin in March and take up to 90 days to complete.
