The Community Foundation of Central Electric Cooperative board recently approved a $2,500 grant to Coyle Schools Student Foundation in Coyle. This grant will help to resurface the outside basketball court.
The Coyle Schools Student Foundation is a student-led organization created in 2014 as part of the Coyle School Foundation. The purpose of the group is to encourage student input regarding projects that would improve the school. The students chose to fundraise
for improvements to the outside basketball court, which is a well-used area that would benefit the most students in grades Pre-K through 12.
The Coyle Schools Student Foundation started the Stinger 5K Run/Walk as a fundraiser to help pay for concrete slab expansion and plastic, snap-together court surface. For the project’s completion, the students need to raise approximately $18,000. At the end of 2016, the students had raised about $7,000.
The Coyle School Foundation is a third party, non-profit, charitable organization. It was formed to develop a supportive community and private sector relationships with Coyle Public Schools. For more information about the foundation, visit CoyleSchoolFoundation.com.
