Over 70 people came out to the Crescent baseball/softball sports complex in Crescent on Feb. 11 to clean up a mess left behind by vandals.
“Today’s cleanup event was a huge success,” Supt. Bart Watkins said. “It’s great that so many people were willing to give up a weekend and help the school.”
Earlier this month, vandals sprayed graffiti throughout the complex. The paint was used throughout the complex, including bathrooms, dugouts, doors and walls.
The Crescent Police Department quickly found the juveniles responsible for the crime.
Following Cleanup Day, the dugouts have a fresh coat of paint, screens have been welded and restrung, the infield grass has been edged and several other projects completed by volunteers.
Just in time for the spring sports season.
